The most valuable person in any business should focus exclusively on 10x and 100x activities: serving clients, growing the business, and improving their offerings. Everything else is a productivity tax that can and should be automated, delegated, or eliminated.

As the PPC director at a large marketing agency, I managed campaigns with hundreds of thousands of keyword permutations. I was a workaholic and often wondered how I could clone myself, which led me to build custom Google Scripts that automated crucial checks and balances—spend limits, targets, real-time dashboards with heatmaps, and intelligent keyword bidding. These scripts could automatically adjust bidding with very specific rules and parameters, which I could fine-tune throughout the day, leveraging deployment across hundreds of thousands of keywords—completely transforming my daily workflow.

I was blown away to see improved performance across the board while simultaneously saving hours per day of time. I could dedicate much more of my time to high-level strategy and pattern recognition in optimizing ad campaigns.

With this newly found free time, I was able to see how much leverage I could get over data and workflows and built multiple Google Scripts including one integrating the OpenWeatherMap API to automatically adjust local keyword bids every hour based on actual local temperatures across 100 cities. I began to envision how similar automation and orchestration could be applied to all kinds of business tasks and workflows. This led to the concept for busywork.com. We're now in alpha stage 1.0 and I'm excited to see how we can add value to your business.
